Kaneria leads rout of Multan in Quaid Trophy

Spinner takes 10 wickets in the match for HBL.

Leg-spinner Danish Kaneria grabbed 10 wickets in the match for the 11th time in his first-class career as HBL crushed hosts Multan by an innings and 167 runs in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy.

HBL, who declared at 429 for seven after dismissing the hosts for a paltry 140, finished the game off in style as they bundled out a mediocre Multan side for 122 in the second innings with Kaneria adding four for 41 to his tally and fast-bowler Shahid Nazir taking three for 24.

NBP on top against Rawalpindi

Staging a remarkable recovery, NBP scored 374 in their second innings, setting an improbable 432-run target for Rawalpindi and then reduced the hosts to 95 for four on the third day at the Pindi Stadium. Kamran Akmal became the second centurion for NBP after Umar Amin as he completed his 13th first-class 100. Mohammad Talha then took three for 22 as NBP need another six wickets to seal the win.

Karachi Blues sense victory

SNGPL were staring defeat on the third day against Karachi Blues after being reduced to 17 for one, in pursuit of a mammoth 367-run target in Karachi. Earlier, Blues built on their first-innings lead of 77 and scored 289 as Ramiz Raja made a quick 81. Imran Khalid was the pick of the bowlers and took five for 57.

Sialkot face uphill task

Sialkot reached 31 for one on day three, chasing 365 to win against ZTBL. The hosts, who resumed their first innings on 215 for six, were quickly bundled out for 240 as they conceded a 110-run lead with Mohammad Khalil taking five wickets. ZTBL then raced to 254 before declaring after 54 overs to set Sialkot a difficult target.

Islamabad-PIA match hangs in balance

Hosts Islamabad reached 228 for seven in their second innings to take an overall lead of 239 against PIA. Zeeshan Mushtaq made 97 off just 101 balls after PIA were bowled out for 252.

Faisalabad struggle against WAPDA

Faisalabad still trail by 17 runs in their second innings after they managed 90 for three on the third day against Wapda at the Sports Stadium in Sargodha. Earlier, Wapda made an impressive 380 to take a 107-run lead in the first innings.
