Shot dead: Four alleged criminals killed in encounter

In an unrelated incident, the police killed two alleged robbers within the limits of New Karachi police station.

Four alleged criminals were killed by the police during encounters in Mauripur and New Karachi on Thursday.


Two alleged gangsters from Lyari were killed in an encounter with the Mauripur police. According to Mauripur SHO Chaudhry, the deceased were identified as Saleem, Azeem alias Char Sar and Abdul Qadir. Three of their accomplices managed to escape. He added that the accused were involved in target killings, extortion and street crimes.

In an unrelated incident, the police killed two alleged robbers within the limits of New Karachi police station.

According to New Karachi SHO Sajid Javed, the alleged robbers were mugging people in Sector 5-D. Policemen deployed in the area rushed to the scene of crime and killed the robbers in an exchange of fire. According to the police the men were identified as Saleem and Shakeel. They added that the two were brothers who had moved to the city from Rahim Yar Khan.

The police recovered two 30 bore pistols, two motorcycles, mobile phones, and wallets from them.
