LAHORE: Mahreen Khan is among those few Pakistanis who have lost complete hope of betterment in their country. Many politicians in Pakistan were corrupt but when they came into government they did good things and their negative image changed. But, unfortunately, writers such as Ms Khan like to still remind us that someone like Imran Khan, who is doing so much good now, was once a playboy in London. The past is in the past and it should not interfere in a person's good work. Imran Khan has a good side which is important for the people of Pakistan. In her article, Ms Khan called Imran Khan's principled stance as a “u-turn” — the fact is that he never compromised on his principles whether it was during the Musharraf regime or any other.
Ms Khan has also written that no one other than Imran khan in the Tehrik-e-insaaf claims to have democratic credentials. This is an unfounded allegation levelled against a party which has Shireen Mazari as its information secretary. Imran Khan must continue with his philanthropy work as well as politics. I have to say that the article in question seemed to be more of a personal attack than an objective analysis on Imran Khan’s political future.
