KARACHI:

Pakistan squash player Farhan Zaman moved into the semi-finals of the Mohammed Yaquob Hajeyah $15,000 PSA Tournament after upsetting Kuwait’s Abullah Al Muzayen 3-0 in South Surrah, Kuwait.

Seeded fifth, Zaman overcame second-seed Al Muzayen without dropping a game in front of his opponent’s home crowd.

Zaman’s challenged was too much for Al Muzayen, as the winner ended the match with scores of 11-7, 11-7 and 11-1.

He will now meet Egypt’s Mohamed Abouelghar in the semi-finals.

He was given a tough run by Jordan’s Ahmad Al-Saraj in the first round of the event, but Zaman pipped him 3-2 after a tense affair.

Both players matched each other neck-to-neck in the first four frames, but Zaman kept his nerves in a tense fifth-game to win with a scoreline of 11-3, 5-11, 11-5, 7-11 and 11-9.
