Unknown motives: US national held with bullets at Karachi airport

KARACHI: The Airport Security Force (ASF) detained a foreigner allegedly trying to travel with bullets from the Jinnah International Airport Karachi on Monday evening.

An ASF official said that a US national identified as Joel Cox was travelling from Karachi to Islamabad by PK-308.

During routine search by ASF staff, 15 bullets of the 9mm pistol along with a magazine were found in his bag, he said. The suspect was handed over to the Airport police station.

SHO Khalid Mehmood confirmed the arrest of the US national and registration of an FIR against him.

US Consulate officials said they were following the situation. “We are aware of the situation that has been reported and we are coordinating with Pakistani authorities to resolve any concerns,” said the spokesman of the consulate.

a lot of hoopla over a ghora with bullets would that be wonderful if we could catch the locals who are roaming the streets of Karachi pilfering and causing bodily harm?
