4 militants die in gunfight with troops

Three more suspected militants attacked the security personnel and were killed in the ensuing gunfight.

Four suspected militants were killed and two injured in a clash during a search operation by security forces on the outskirts of Mingora, Swat on Sunday morning.


Security forces launched a search operation after receiving reports that a militant involved in a recent botched suicide attack on Dr Farooq, member of a local village defence committee, and bomb attack on security forces, was hiding in the Banjot area of Manglawar, Swat, sources told The Express Tribune.

They were fired upon by suspected militants. In the retaliatory fire, one suspected militant was killed and two others escaped with injuries. Later, three more suspected militants attacked the security personnel and were killed in the ensuing gunfight.
