SRINAGAR:
Omar Abdullah, who heads the political administration of Indian Kashmir, has directly blamed Narendra Modi for inciting violence in Assam that left 32 Muslims dead this weekend, the Press Trust of India reported on Saturday.
“In Assam, 30 Muslims were murdered. Why? Because BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi made a speech there and tried to incite people against Muslims. This is a fact. This truth cannot be denied,” Omar told an election rally at Tangmarg in Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency. Abdullah is one of the fiercest foes of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate.
Omar said that Modi, in his election rally in Assam three days earlier, had branded all Muslims living in that state as “Bangladeshis”, which resulted in the attacks on them.
“Three days earlier, he (Modi) went there and branded all Muslims as Bangladeshis and today 30 Muslims have been put to sleep in the grave,” he added.
Referring to Modi’s statement holding National Conference leaders responsible for exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, Omar said the BJP leader had set out to insult all Kashmiris in the country.
Omar also accused the BJP of wanting to divide Jammu and Kashmir into three parts. Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency along with Ladakh Lok Sabha seat in Jammu and Kashmir will go to polls on May 7.
At least 50,000 people have fled their villages in the state’s Kokrajhar and Baska districts since a wave of attacks were unleashed on migrant Muslims allegedly by Bodo tribals. Nine more bodies were recovered on Saturday, including four children, taking the toll to 33.
As the clamour for the arrest of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) MLA Pramila Rani Brahma — who allegedly instigated the attacks by saying Muslims had voted en masse for a non-Bodo candidate — grew, the BJP attacked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde of failing to contain the growing tension between the two communities. The PM represents Assam in the Rajya Sabha while the BPF is an ally of the ruling Congress.
“What is happening in Assam is because of the Congress’ vote-bank politics,” the BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad said, adding that Shinde was too excited about probing Snoopgate to speak about the Assam violence.

@lol: Then wait to be bewilderd.!!!
Muslims speaking Bangladeshi dialect ARE BANGLADESHIS. There can be no doubt about it!!!!
@lol: Modi is right.. why should we allow illegal bengladeshi migrants in India? Army should shoot them down before entering into India. they are muslims or not is a different topic. if yoy are concerned with that, then worry about muslims in pakistan syria, egypt.
Will you tolerate if Illegal Indians start coming and living in Pakistan?
I've seen Pakistanis calling afghans who live in Pakistan names on this forum. Why this hypocrisy if Modi does it with as you say Bangladeshi Muslims?
Modi stands up for people of Assam, for Indians, that is why people of India are electing him.
You have to sign an anti Ahmadi pledge everytime you need a government service like a passport. Coming from Pakistanis where every passport holder has personally persecuted a minority group is pretty ironic.
@lol: don't try make bengladeshi illegal migrants as Indians This is fight between tribals and migrants
@lol:
Why should India host other country citizens? I've seen Pakistanis on this forum asking Afghans to go back, calling them names. If Modi does it then it's disastrous? Isn't this double standards?
Assam belongs to people of Assam. Not people of Bangladesh.
India is a hotchpotch of intense hatred, the root cause of all the hatred flowing around in South Asia ,it must come up with a system of punishing criminals like modi are get ready for another 1947 and split into 2 or the nations, with modi the king of mafia coming into power soon there will be more of such incidents
Please read this piece to understand the context of the Assam killings. It has nothing to do with Narendra Modi's speech.

@BruteForce: Modi made racist remarks regarding Bangladeshi Muslim migrants in Asaam in his public speech, just few days later 30+ Muslims were brutally killed. The speech has been shown many times, just search for it. And don't act naive! Modi is an extremist & I'll be really shocked of India elects an extremist as a PM.
@hmm: Entire world knows how mature you people are.
Modi made an anti-Muslim speech? Can we have the excepts please?
Without quoting the Modi speech, how can you report Omar Abdullah accusing Modi?
Is this professional Journalism? Or, pure propaganda reporting?
http://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/sectarian-conflict-in-assam-dates-back-to-statehood-movement-in-1967/article1-1215167.aspx
This is what the conflict is about. Bodo tribals wanting separate state within india. And flooding of Bangladeshi illegal immigrants from porous border settling there robbing them of stAte opportunities and changing their bodo tribal culture. When they demanded separate state Bangladeshi immigrants opposed so you have militant terror groups there.. How will anyone blame civilians for it? Much less modi who said when he comes to power all illegal immigrants will be sent home.? Didn't pmln say same thing about afgan people? So when terror attacks strikes there you call it riots?
Unlike in Pakistan general elections, there is just too much hatred being spewed on various communities & neighboring countries. Mainstream parties didn't even discussed India during our elections! Pakistan has a long history of dictatorship, yet it is more mature than the so called secular & democratic India. Same goes for media, Pakistan's media is more responsible & mature while Indian media likes to fuel more hatred against Pakistan.
