PIC Chief Executive Bilal Zakaria Khan said microbiological surveillance of operation theatres at the institute was a monthly routine.
He said fumigation of theatres was then carried out in accordance with laboratory reports. He said currently two operation theatres at PIC were operational while seven had been closed for fumigation and sterilisation. He said they would reopen in a few days. Khan said no patient had died due to infection at the PIC and rumours in this regard were baseless.
