A Frontier Corps (FC) man was killed and another was injured in a bomb blast in Bolan district, Balochistan on Saturday.

According to a FC spokesperson, FC personnel were patrolling the area when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded, seriously wounding two personnel inside the vehicle.

Troops reached the crime scene and shifted the injured to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Quetta.

The injured personnel were identified as Azmat Ali and Akbar.

“One of the personnel succumbed to his injuries on arrival at hospital,” the spokesperson told The Express Tribune.

Bolan is one of the highly sensitive and insurgency stricken region in Balochistan.

Security forces have started a search operation in the area and nobody has claimed responsibility for this attack as yet. However, FC officials believe that Baloch militants are behind the attack.
