Addressing a press conference at MQM headquarters Nine Zero, MQM leader Farooq Sattar claimed that as many six MQM workers had been picked up by personnel dressed in civilian clothes on April 13, 2014, from County Apartment. Bodies of the four of the six abducted workers were found on Wednesday from Memon goth, while two others are still missing, said Sattar.
The MQM leader demanded that Prime Minister Nawaz should form a judicial commission to investigate the extra-judicial killings of the MQM workers. He further demanded that a monitoring committee should also be formed to oversee the ongoing Karachi operation.
The party also requested the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Corp Commander Karachi Sajjad Ghani to form an inquiry commission to look into the matter of missing MQM workers.
MQM gave government an ultimatum of 72 hours to fulfil their demands.
Just ten days after joining the provincial government, MQM is observing a day of mourning today, after bodies of four party workers were found on the night of April 30.
High security arrangements were made for the funeral and a large number of police officials were present for the safety of the people present at the funeral.
All Karachi Tajir Ittehad Chairman Atiq Mir said in a statement that businesses will be opened after the funeral. Public transport will also be opened after the memorial service.

Nowaaz and his brother are in London. attending Elton John's wedding, eating cucumber sandwiches and busy checking with their overseas accounts. Shahbaz has no time for this. Nowaaz is confused and lost,..wont talk.
This just in: Bhai pays glowing tributes to people for a smashing 'mourning' day. I guess the 'na - maloom afrad' should now be rechristened as 'naam - maloom afraad.'
We are so big hypocrites. We post comments sitting from our homes and refuse to go to work, even if its possible. I don't know of city situation today which stopped people from going to work with their private vehicles. Mind it, Karachi business is not only shops! Fact of matter is People look forward to such "holidays" because we are a lazy nation.
Inna lillah e Wainna ilaih Rajioon. What about other innocent peoples of Karachi; were they perform funeral of innocent peoples..... MQMs members are most innocents in the Pakistan (whatever today calling strike, media coverage) what is the meaning for that? It means MQMs members are so important and others are neglected, what a drama...... try to finish this bloodshed any how.
Inna lillahi wainna ilayehi rajioon! May this bloodshed stop in Karachi and may the people in power stop playing with Karachi for their wicked designs.
Seen a high mounted camera(Gib) on the site of the funeral. MQM is turning this Namaz-e-Janaza into a media stunt. Says a lot about the party.
Maqbool Siddiqui saying people closed their businesses voluntarily. What a shameful lie. Because of these antics people have turned against MQM. The party is soon becoming history.
MQM is in the government, with its own governor. Against whom they are staging a day of mourning. Hypocrisy at its best. Seems like the militant wing of the mafia party puts pressure on the political wing to to this. Have some mercy on the people of Karachi. MQM have lost the hearts and minds of the people of Karachi by exactly doing these strikes. The sooner they learn the better.
When the people of Karachi is going to get rid of this fascist party. It's a Mafia and not a political party.
