The Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad with three balls remaining in an Indian Premier League match being played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Hyderabad won the toss and decided to bat first. Aaron Finch held the innings together with an important 44 off 45 innings. A late burst by Darren Sammy and Karn Sharma propelled Hyderabad to a respectable total of 145 in their 20 overs. Ben Hilfenhaus and Mohit Sharma took two scalps each.

In reply, Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum gave Chennai a strong start by scoring 66 and 40 respectively. The star-studded bowling lineup of Hyderabad was given a thrashing by the two openers who set the perfect platform for the middle order batsmen to reach the target.
