Too hot to handle: Heat wave to continue till next week

City remains in grip of heat wave.

KARACHI: The city remained in the grip of the heat  wave on Sunday as the mercury touched the mark of 40 degrees centigrade, said a meteorological department official. He went on to predict that the prevailing weather conditions will persist throughout the next week. “Hot and dry weather is expected in Karachi with the expected minimum temperature between 26 and 28 degrees centigrade,” said the meteorological department’s forecasting officer, Rashid Bilal. The officer said that the rest of the province also remained in the grip of the severe heat wave, where the country’s highest maximum temperature of 45 degrees centigrade was recorded in Dadu district, followed by Shaheed Benazirabad, Moenjodaro, Mithi and Chhor, where the maximum temperature had touched the mark of 44 degrees centigrade.
