'The world criticises Indian human rights violations in Kashmir'

Qureshi says that issues will continue between India and Pakistan until the Kashmir dispute is resolved.

MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday said that the whole world has criticised Indian human rights violations in Indian Kashmir.

Talking to the media outside Multan airport, Qureshi said one good thing that has come out of his meetings with the European Union officials was the highlighting of the cause of the Kashmiris.

He said that issues will continue between India and Pakistan, until the Kashmir dispute is resolved.

Qureshi claimed that his meetings with the EU leaders have also given Pakistanis access to markets in Europe.

About his talks in the US, he said they were useful and the Americans are now clearer about Pakistan's goals in the region.

Rehan | 14 years ago | Reply Pakistan should forget Kashmir and concentrate more on the development. It should build hospitals, schools, roads, should provide all such basic amenities first. It should be its priority. Now Kashmir, then SWAT, then Baluchistan, wot then?! Its HIGH TIME we Pakistanis stopped thinking about Kashmir.

Tony Singh | 14 years ago | Reply @SA I wonder how other security forces act when they are thrown stones at, fired at, have their offices burnt, attacked by militants? They too have right to self defense. See in your own backyard, how Pakistan's Army and govt has acted against people in Balochistan, Waziristan. and other areas to curb secession. What more, they have used Air power and missiles and also outsourced some to USA in form of drone attacks.

Pakistan wants the land or the people, this is a useless debate, so is indian pundits being thrown out of their houses. Nothing justifies the killings of Kashmiris at the hands of indian army and all indians mut be ashamed of it

Ahmer Ali | 14 years ago | Reply Assalam-o-Allaikum Warahmatullah.India is insincere and dishonest o resolve Kashmir issue and India has proven and shown its attitude before the world in the form of time and money wasting talk shows and photo sessions on the various places also in New Delhi and Islamabad and fooling and deceiving Pakistani officials and the muslim world as well but our leaders couldn't understand it till now and as far as world criticism is concerned then this is only verbal criticism and the world community is just a silent spectator on the killings of innocent and sinless Kasmiri people especially children and women and our coward leaders you should keep it in your mind firmly that the world community shall never help you in this regard and you are wasting your time and poor country Pakistan's money on the foreign tours for Kashmir issue's resolution.Please stop star gazing and day dreaming for Kashmir issue's resolutions with India.

Dont fool ur countrymen on kashmir card..better stop playing childish politics in troubled waters of kashmir... Prem | 14 years ago | Reply Qureshi, first look inside Pakistan and then speak with India, your country itself has human right voilation everyday. If you so care abt Kashmiri people (Gilani and Co), we are glad to send them all to Pakistan and you can keep of those kind. But you will not get a single inch of land, you should be actually happpy that you have some part of Kashmir which should not be with pakistan in the first place. I know that pakistan wants the LAND and Not the people.
