QUETTA: A 16 inch diameter gas pipeline was blown up in the Pir Koh area of Dera Bugti District on Wednesday, an official said. According to official sources the militants detonated a remote controlled improvised explosive device (IED) to damage the gas pipeline suspending the gas supply from the well to the Sui gas purification plant. Personnel of the Frontier Corps reached the spot and cordoned off the area to investigate the incident. A Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) official claimed that they have started repairing the damaged pipeline. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
