Impeding justice: Court readers arrested for withholding records

The inquiry team concluded that the readers had indeed concealed judicial records to protect some men.

Two readers of the Mianwali sessions court were arrested by the police for withholding records.

According to a handout issued on Wednesday, the Mianwali district and sessions judge had sent an inquiry report compiled by Civil Judge Abu Bakar to Anti-Corruption Establishment Director Babar Aman against readers Faizullah and Bashir Ahmed for allegedly withholding records of 237 cases. The inquiry team concluded that the readers had indeed concealed judicial records to protect some men.
