Musharraf, who is currently in Karachi for medical treatment, had moved the court against the interior ministry's rejection of his request to remove his name from the ECL.
The attorney general today informed the bench, comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Shahnawaz Tariq, that he had received the court notice late and could not compile appropriate response.
He requested the court to grant him 10 to 15 days time to submit government’s reply.
The bench, on the attorney general’s request, adjourned the hearing till May 7.
The name of the former president was put on ECL on April 5, 2013 by the interior ministry to ensure Musharraf remained in the country and attended hearings of all the cases he was involved in.
On March 31, Musharraf was formally charged for subverting and circumventing the Constitution by imposing emergency on November 3, 2007. Musharraf had rejected the charges levelled against him.
Apart from the high treason case, Musharraf was also named as an accused in the Benazir Bhutto and Akbar Bugti murder cases.

@Excalibur Karma is cruel! Remember this same Musharraf did not allow Nawaz Sharif to attend his fathers funeral? How does that sound now. What goes around comes around.
The judiciary-PMLN coordination continues. The SHC wasted no time in asking for Musharraf's name to be put on the ECL, but is in no hurry to dispose off the petition to remove his name now that there is no reason. The govt doesn't need 2 weeks and asked for 10-15 days, yet the SHC obliged by giving them 14 days. When someone's fundamental rights are being violated it is incumbent on the courts to provide speedy relief. Not the case here, sadly.
Delaying Tactics of the Government started and judges are becoming part of this drama too!
Why not just start the trial? Lots of articles and legal motions that have no bearing on his guilt/innocence with no substantive movement forward on determining his guilt/innocence. If your too afraid to put this man on trial then you shouldn't have arrested him in the first place.
Insensitivity and cruelty to the core.
Who will be responsible if Musharraf;s mother passes away before the next hearing after two weeks
Inhumanity at its worst. Musharraf had not only allowed NS to accompany his fathers body from KSA to Lahore but NS was unwilling to confirm to his guarantors the Saudis that he will return after the burial as he had signed an agreement to stay away for 10 years
God bless you !
The recent article published in Times magazine in which involvement of govt. Agencies have been indicated in Abatabad episode is not baseless . In fact this article has been published to open a pindora box of several related issues in which both the judiciary and govt. will get entangled if Mussarraf was harnessed delibratly . Let the sanity prevail and state energy is diverted towards the national dedevelopments.
Shame on the delaying tactics of the corrupt government and lethargic justice system of Pakistan . What if your mother is ill .You will rush to see her or wait two more weeks for something unfortunate to happen to your mother .This is my question to the lethargic court .\
