PESHAWAR:

Five ministers appointed by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government earlier this month are yet to be assigned portfolios, and official notifications of their respective departments have not been issued despite a lapse of 20 days.

The ministers are Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani (higher education department), Qalandar Khan Lodhi (food department), Ikramullah Gandapur, Ziaullah Afridi (minerals department) and Jamsheduddin (excise and taxation). These MPAs took oath as provincial ministers on April 1.

The said ministers are presently running various departments based on verbal orders rather than documented ones. Ikramullah Gandapur has no portfolio at the moment. The government’s website, however, does not list any departments against the names of these new ministers.

Lodhi said the official notification is expected to be issued in the next couple of days.
