JAMRUD:

Two suspected militants were arrested by khasadar officials while trying to enter Jamrud Civil Hospital and grenades were recovered from their possession on Monday.

Ali Sher, an official of the political administration, said two suspected militants were trying to enter the hospital at around 9am when officials posted on duty stopped them and recovered two hand grenades from their possession.

The official identified the men as Shafiq Khan and Tamash Khan, who reportedly told the officials they were trying to visit a patient inside the hospital. Both of them were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation while khasadar and FC personnel launched a search operation, declaring the building safe after an hour.

Meanwhile, the political administration imposed a curfew in most areas. Shahkas and Bara roads were closed for all kinds of traffic and officials launched a house-to-house search in the area and arrested 130 tribesmen under the Frontier Crimes Regulation.

The curfew was lifted around 5pm and accused tribesmen were shifted to the Jamrud tehsil jail where investigation has begun.
