The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government is better than its counterparts as it is dispensing blind justice and even sacked its own ministers accused of corruption. The statement was made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday while campaigning for his party’s candidate for by-polls in PK-86 on April 24.
Addressing a rally in Khwazakhela, Imran said K-P will soon have 350 dams which will help end load-shedding in the country. “If the authority to distribute power was handed over to the provincial government, they would have surplus electricity and would be able to sell it to the other provinces.”
The government has launched several hydropower projects in Swat and soon the region will have sufficient electricity, claimed Imran.
The former cricket captain said sports grounds will be built in every union council to divert the youth’s attention towards healthy activities.
Talking about security affairs, the PTI leader claimed the provincial police have been made completely autonomous. “If the Karachi police was made as independent, law and order in the port city would improve tremendously.”
Imran lashed out at the National Highways Authority (NHA), saying if it does not want to construct roads in Swat, the contract will be given to the provincial government. Not a single project has been completed by the NHA in the district since the past five years, he pointed out.

Those who say that PTI has done nothing in KPK surely don't live in here. I voted PTI on 11th May but not because i was a PTI supporter but we were just fed up of the past corrupt, incompetent Molvi, Anp govts and their politics. And well, i don't regret my choice, it was, is & will be a right one.
@Haroon Khan:
Dude, I concur. So we will just stick with what good has been done thus far and not be patting backs and declaring that KPK is better than its counterparts in any form.
@Adnan Siddiqi: Dude, political rhetoric aside, there have been clear improvements in the state of affairs in KP. I am there it is clear to see. You are quite possibly not even based in KP (otherwise you won't be able to deny the positive changes). I do agree that the Big Claims during elections are still pending...
Can the erudite fan club of Deen-e-Imrani care to inform us that after eradicating corruption in 90 days, electing SHO's like the Sheriff system of United States, holding local body elections within 6 months of taking power in KPK and making KPK even more impressive than some Scandinavian state - what would be next slogan of IK?
@Usman Babu: TTP Headquarter location in KPK Please???????
PTI may not be putting up an exemplary show of governance, but it's definitely way better than the rest of provincial governments.
@fawad: De politicising the Police is a major mile stone to delivery of speedy and universal justice which is essential to the progress of any society. I am happy that PTI has taken the correct direction but the road is still rocky ahead. Well done PTI.
@YM: “Never tell the truth to people who are not worthy of it” - Mark Twain
Imran Khan must join hands with PMLN to get this country out of the mess.
IK must join hands with PMLN to get this country out of the mess.
@YM: Nothing about being fanboys, if competitions increases between provincial CMs then the only winners are the Pakistanis. Try to get a positive mindset for once. Hating for the sake of hating makes you look small.
PML desperate for real people to claim something positive on their behalf but unfortunately they cant so they pay people to write rubbish. I lived in the Punjab and my experience of the Police is that they will take a bribe to reg the FIR and then extort a bribe from the other party as well and the highest bidder wins. I dare the PML supporters to tell me that is not the truth!
Things really going good in kpk. Hope to have more in comming days
I see improvements. Period.
PTI govt is much better than those Ballora and walia....
I wonder whether firing an occasional corrupt minister offsets having much of it's population in constant fear because the territory is under control of militants? Don't think so.
I do not think Imran can make Paris out of KP in just one year! A friend of mine who's entire family is in ANP, was telling me just yesterday that his brother who works at a local hospital, runs every morning to his work because of the new biometric attendance policy they have at the hospital. I think this is the beginning of the change!
@Gul Mohd.: and you have failed to hide your biasedness towards PTI
@amaar iqbal:
Come 2018 and you'd be wishing again that your next PM would be IK in 2023. BTW, has corruption been totally eradicated in KPK, 19 days seems like an eternity now.
Pakistani people were unaware of visionary leadership. Now the educated people comprehend what a real leader is! Imran is setting the pace and others are following!
@scholar: bro that,s why we love imran khan....and here in punjab n league is doing nothing as usual.....our next pm imran khan
@scholar: bro that,s why we love imran khan
What only 7 Comments? what happened fan boys. No examples in Comments either. no statistics how other provinces are worse?
@Faiza: Didn't know pmln social media team is still getting salaries
PTI has done nothing positive in KPK. All corrupt people are part of PTI.
I live in Melbourne and have friends here who have their families in KP and Punjab. The ones from KP do talk about improvements though they admit there is still a long way to go. The ones from Punjab talk about worsening law and order situation and rampant bribes in government departments. I don't know whether it was due to the performance benchmarks set by poor governance by ANP and MMA in KP or better ones by PML(N) and PML(Q), in the past that has set the standards
Being a resident of KPK (District Abbottabad), I can see a positive change in overall system after PTI's rule. Pace might be slow but direction is very right for the PTI led KPK government.
PTI has failed.
We fully support and trsut IK vision and work in KPK. Good work PTI hope much more to come in next 4 year and i hope government will complete their term and after the end of the term the critics will appreciate PTI' JI hard work and corruption free government.
@khan: At the end of PTI first term of 5 year they will be elected second time and the real difference people will see then.
De politicizing police is the biggest achievement of PTI that PMLn and others couldn't do in 3 terms in power. PTI is building institutions, whereas I cannot name even a single institution PMLn has made in 25 years in power. On the contrary, Shahbaz Sharif is above institutions and trying to do all things by himself or his family members. Nawaz Sharif takes his brother and sons on official trips and appointed acting MD's for most of the government owned enterprises and is destroying them.
Called my younger back in KP Pakistan and asked about the situation. He gave me three examples:
1- To his surprise, he found that police officials on sehat ka insaf security duty, were having there own lunch boxes (biryani, apple etc.). Police were directed to not eat free of cost from public shops and hotels.
2- He informed that many of his poor and qualified friends have obtained good marks in NTS test and are now allocated teaching positions purely on merit.
3- Some of the MPAs are involved in Nepotism.
Good and bad are there but Imran is Imran and EVERYBODY knows it very well. Long live Khan
i have lived in peshawar all my life and now finally i see improvements. this is the only province where people can feel that money is being spent on them... well done pti!
I have never doubted IK's good intentions and his leadership qualities. It is his total rejection of other valid points of view in many major issues that make me doubt that he is fit to lead a nation.
PTI has done nothing in KPK. Province is facing the worst government.
If KPK has the money, just buy-off the power generation infrastructure from the federal government and do whatever you want.
My Leader IK, Haters, I do have one word for you. PTI is leading a province for the first time and you guys are here since decades. Hurdles are there, but positive intentions makes everything passible
KP govt might have made mistakes but it is still better then 3 provincial governments of Sindh, Punjab & Balochistan.
