Nawaz, who was the chief guest at the ceremony held at Kakul Military Academy, stated that the PMA is rightfully considered "a veritable cradle of leadership."
Nawaz also praised Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif during his address stating that officers like him "are only known for their professionalism, patriotism, dedication and commitment to their motherland."
Despite the heavy downpour, the passing-out cadets took an oath to remain loyal to the constitution as well as the nation during the ceremony. Seven cadets from Palestine and Bahrain were among those who took the oath.
Nawaz was also presented with a guard of honour.
Providing resources
The premier said that the state is providing all possible resources needed for making the country's defence impregnable.
"Without a strong economy, rule of law and containment of terrorism, a credible defence system cannot be sustained," Nawaz stated.
Technological advancements
While addressing the ceremony, Nawaz stressed the importance of technology in today's world.
"Technological innovations are the order of the day," he stated, adding that "they are changing our very lifestyle and their impact is felt in all walks of our national life."
"Modern technology has also transformed the nature of warfare and tilted the balance squarely in favour of the technologically-advanced nations," stated the prime minister further emphasising its importance.

zia once said constitution is just a piece of paper and i can tear it away when ever i want to, so who cares what oath these cadets take they give a damn
@rex min, you need some schooling son,go and study something about passing out parade. @zaid hamid , yea, let's give them cheap Toyota pickup cabins so it can blow to bits and pieces during ied attacks,,off course the blood of our soldiers and generals is so cheap that we won't even buy them bombproof vehicles , overall they are peasants of pakistan who have no rights to enjoy a peaceful life after retirement.
I think ARMY should open a voluntary commission equivalent to a pay-grade of captain and let civilians join it, i will see how many will turn up considering their first station would be waziristan.
@Parvez: Viva! Bravo! Shabash and well said. You commented the truth before me. The civilians need to be honest, equitable, and truthful about changes to the constitution so that people elected from hinterlands do not rule in the city. Salams
LtGen Atiqur Rehman inhis Our Defence Cause discusses what should be the nature of relation between people (parliament) and the armed forces. He pleads openness and scoffs at foolish secretiveness. Openness makes ppl realise threats and motivates them to provide required money to army, of course for def preparation , not for housing complexes, plots and flats almt. Primarily, ppl and parliament themselves are responsible for lack of adequate accountability of the defence budget, that leaves little for allocation to social sectors. A slap on face of parliament is ONE LINE ALLOCATION IN DEFENCE DEMANDS FOR GRANTS for all the three services. India displays breakup of its whole budget on internet. What a pity! Def minister Hamid Nawaz on TV channel said let Prlmnt ask for breakup of the budget and we would put the whole budget with detailed breakup threadbare before them. No parliamenrn, no PM ever asked for. There is no sense in alloting plots and flats to armed forces offrs who never in life took part in any combat. Why no plots flats to civ offrs who serve up to 60 yrs. Army asks what's output of your PHA and PHF in allotting flats to civ servants. PHA demands 75 lac for a plot. That money even an honest 22 grade offr does not have.
Threat perception is gradually changing around us and there is a serious need to formulate a new defence doctrine. Gone are the days of million men armies and heavy mechanized forces. We need a lean army which is highly mobile and has the ability of rapid deployment at any flashpoint. PM statement is on the money as we cannot sustain a bloated manpower. Cut back on men and money saved should be invested in such technological advancements like drones, assault and transport helicopters, military satellites, battlefield communications, smart weapons and a sufficient number of tactical and strategic missiles to deter any aggression from the eastern border.
The PM forgot to mention "loyalty, honesty and integrity". But what do our politicians know about those terms ?
Is he talking about the Indian Army
This is the beginning of a new era in the Army when the new generation is entering after the Dictatorships and Military intrusions are history and the "Billa" is soon going to be punished for high treason.
It is great to see that the history is being corrected in Pakistan!
politicians need to be embodiment of.......honesty, honesty and honesty.
Professionalism, Patriotism, Dedication and COMMITMENT TO THEIR MOTHERLAND demand from the officers like our Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to come forward and play their role and save & secure Pakistan from the onslaught of all these thugs hiding behind various veils.
