The International Finance Corporation (IFC) team, comprising Principal Investment Officer Zulfiqar Ali, consultant Jack Michalowski and IFC senior investment officer Syed Farhan Fasihuddin, visited State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, Principal Office, Karachi.  State Life was represented by Executive Director Raeesuddin Paracha and Ajaz Khan, General Manager (F&A) Muhammad Rashid, and General Manager (Investment) Attaullah A Rasheed.


Deliberations were made to explore alternative investment sources for Pakistan’s private power industry. The meeting discussed the possibility of creating a new entity through which funds could be channelled for new power projects. The generation of funds for this purpose could be effected by forming a consortium of local and international financial institutions and issuance of investment bonds.
