In memoriam : Super chef Sara Riaz passes away
We at The Express Tribune express our deepest condolences at her passing, may her soul rest in peace.
With 20 years of cooking experience, Chef Sara Riaz was a television staple and a prominent member of Pakistan’s culinary community. Her easy to follow cooking instructions made for delectable recipes and she was loved by fans nationwide. Unfortunately, Riaz passed away yesterday morning, according to the ARY Zauq Facebook page. Riaz was a breast cancer patient, and had been in critical condition since last week.
“The body dies, but the love lives on. She continues to live in our hearts, and always will,” the Facebook post read, she was profoundly loved by her peers and colleagues.
Not only did Riaz host her own cooking show, she also appeared on a number of other morning shows to impart advice. Her love of food also extended beyond studios and sets, as she also ran a small training institute from her house in North Nazimabad, Karachi. According to a representative of the network, her burial took place after Friday prayers. Riaz had no children and leaves behind only her husband.
