Sacked: 100 teachers protest outside TIP
HARIPUR:
Around 100 teachers, who were recently fired from various institutions of the Telephone Industries of Pakistan (TIP), protested on Wednesday demanding their employment contracts be renewed. In February, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government instructed all ministries, state-owned enterprises and government departments not to renew employee contracts after March 31. According to an official source at TIP in Haripur, ministry for information threatened to halt funding if the prime minister’s directives were not implemented.
