Electricity supply remained suspended on the fifth consecutive day in Bisham tehsil of Shangla district bringing life to a standstill.
The affected areas include Dandai, Mira, Batakot, Chakesar and Kerai where supply from two feeders of Thakot Grid Station has been suspended.
A leader of Bisham Grand Jirga, Lala Mukhtar said if the issue of power suspension was not resolved on immediate basis residents will surround Khan Khwar Dam on April 26 and cut the electricity line which provides power to the national grid.
“We will block Karakoram Highway and observe a shutter-down strike in the city to protest,” warned Bisham Bazaar Action Committee President Hameedur Rehman adding their electricity bill recovery rate is 80% under the Bisham city feeder-2.
When contacted, the billing in-charge of Wapda, Nawaz Khan, confirmed that the residents of Bisham city and its suburbs have been paying their bills on time. He, however, expressed ignorance of the reason behind the suspension of power supply.
