Court turns down N Srinivasan's request to be reinstated as BCCI president

The Indian Supreme Court has dismissed N Srinivasan's request to be reinstated as president of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), ESPN Cricinfo reported on Wednesday.

The court also revealed that there were 12 allegations against Srinivasan.

Srinivasan had asked the Supreme Court the day before to "reconsider" the interim order passed on March 28, stating that he was "highly aggrieved by the unfair and unsubstantiated allegations" made against him by the legal counsel for Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB).

According to NDTV Sports, the Supreme Court said that Srinivasan has been named in a report on the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal. The 12 other names on the report are all prominent cricketers.

The court stressed that Srinivasan cannot perform any function within India's cricket board and that its interim order on March 28 will stand.

The audacity of these powerful politicians/ businessman who think they are above law/country pleading innocence and unfairness at such serious charge. Disgusting. Power, money and arrogance has gone into his head. The whole media and country is telling him to step down yet he's defying all and sticking to his post.
