LAHORE: The private sectors of Pakistan and Taiwan have pledged to talk to their respective governments for expeditious issuance of visa to the businessmen, which is causing trade relations to suffer.

This was sworn during a visit of a twenty-member Taiwanese business delegation jointly led by Chien-Nan Kuo and Muhammad Mujahid to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

The LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari highlighted the potential trade and investment sectors while the vice president Kashif Anwar also spoke on the occasion.

Both sides agreed to identify the irritants for the free flow of goods and expedite dissemination trade-related information to increase the volume of the two-way trade.

“We are keen to do business with Pakistan as the country is appearing to be a good investment destination,” said the head of the Taiwanese delegation.

He said that another Taiwanese business delegation will visit Pakistan in September 2014 to gain first-hand knowledge about available business opportunities.

Chien-Nan Kuo said that Pakistan’s strategic location was an added attraction for the foreign businessmen.

Speaking on the occasion, Lashari said that the volume of the present two-way business is far below the respective potential the two countries have.
