Sindh govt’s initiative: Plots for heirs of martyred journalists

Owais Muzaffar says PPP has a strong relationship with the journalist community, believes in the freedom of press.

KARACHI: Sindh government will give plots to the families of the martyred journalists. Central leader of Pakistan Peoples Party and former provincial minister Owais Muzaffar said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari have advised the provincial government for early transfer of these plots. PPP has a strong relationship with the journalist community and it believes in the freedom of press, Owais Muzaffar said. He was speaking to a delegation of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ). The IFJ Adviser Pervaiz Shaukat, PFUJ President Rana Azeem and General Secretary Amin Yousaf and President KUJ GM Jamali were also present. Owais Muzaffar said journalists highlight the ills of society. He said that the journalists in Pakistan especially in Balochistan are working under very challenging conditions and their services should be appreciated.
