The violence took place around 25 kilometres west of Peshawar, according to security officials.

Ali Sher, a local administration official, confirmed the incident.

"Three trucks were attacked at three different locations in Jamrud district of Khyber agency killing one driver and setting his truck ablaze" he told AFP.

"Two other drivers have been injured."

There is an Urdu saying which is somewhat equivalent to, “once a thief - always a thief.” It stands true here as well; a terrorist will always create terror and kill to spread fear. The driver killed in this senseless attack was only trying to earn an honest living for his family. When will the killers realize that killing one earning member affects an extended clan? Our heartfelt condolences go out to them. We need to stand united and condemn these senseless attacks. Our quest for peace will not be dampened by these cowardly acts. In fact they makes our resolve even more strong for peace that the people of the region so desire.
