KARACHI:
The legal fraternity continued their protest on the third consecutive day on Saturday to condemn the back-to-back targeted killings of lawyers.

The Pakistan Bar Council had called for a nationwide protest, appealing to lawyers to boycott the legal proceedings. Responding to the call, lawyers did not turn up to plead their cases at the Sindh High Court (SHC), the City Courts and the Malir District Courts.

Addressing a condolence reference, Karachi Bar Association president, Barrister Salahuddin Ahmed, said the lawyers would announce their future line of action after holding consultation with other lawyer associations.

A resolution was also adopted by the association members calling for sit-ins on the MA Jinnah Road for two hours every day till all lawyers are issued arms licenses for their protection. Published in The Express Tribune, April 13th, 2014.
