For sacrifices made: Hazara shuts down to observe 4th anniversary of 2010 killings

In a coordinated effort to commemorate the sacrifices made by the victims of April 12, 2010, and a show of resolve for the creation of Hazara province, districts across the division will host various events today. While Abbottabad city will be centre stage for rallies and meetings, Hazara movement groups from all other districts will also mark the day.


While briefing the media, the coordinator of Suba Hazara Tehrik, Abdul Razak Abbasi, said a joint programme of all mainstream political parties, along with members from Tehrik Shuhada-e-Hazara would be held at Jalal Baba Auditorium in Abbottabad.

The speakers on this occasion will discuss the future strategy for accelerating efforts towards Hazara province.

Tehrik Suba Hazara of Baba Haider Zaman, Hazara Qaumi Mahaz and Muttahida Qaumi Movement have jointly arranged ‘Youm-e-Shuhada’ at Cantonment Chowk. Hazara Hurriyat Conference of Naseer Khan Jadoon has announced a sit-in at Missile Chowk Mandiyan, where they will launch a movement named “Hazara ya maut,”(Hazara province or death) Rallies, prayers and public meetings would also be held in Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra and Haripur.

Traders would observe a partial shutter down strike, while the transporters association of Hazara announced a complete transport strike across the division. Meanwhile, Provincial Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani visited the graves of victims of April 12, 2010, on Friday.
