Group that killed PML-N lawyer also attacked doctor: police report
Empty shells found from the scenes of both crimes were from the same 9mm pistol, the report states.

According to an initial report by the police, the group of suspects responsible for killing Syed Waqarul Hassan Shah, vice-president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawyers forum, was also behind the fatal attack on doctor Haider Raza, Express News reported on Friday.
According to the police report, bullet casings found in the two crime scenes are from the same 9mm pistol. The initial report suggests that the attacks were pre-planned.
Police said that a final report will be made after more evidence is submitted to forensic laboratories for analysis.
The attacks
On April 10, Shah was shot dead on Rashid Minhas Road in Karachi. The 48-year-old lawyer was rushed to a private hospital after four armed men had opened fire at his car.
Just a day before that, 50-year-old Dr Haider Raza was also shot dead at Darul Sehat Hospital. The duty officer of Sharae Faisal police station had said that the victim was going home in his car when unidentified men shot him thrice and escaped. Majlis-e-Wahadatul Muslimeen had given a statement that the victim belonged to the Shia community.
