In light of the prevailing law and order situation in the province, the government has decided to extend the contract of special police force officials.
According to a notification issued from the Department of Home and Tribal Affairs, the government has decided to extend the contract period of special police force personnel whose contract had ended last year.
The notification states that besides increasing the salaries of 2,925 members of the special police force by Rs5,000, the government has also asked the treasury department that the members’ arrears pending for three months be paid as soon as possible.
Secretary Home Syed Akhtar Ali Shah was quoted as saying that the contract period ended on December 31, 2013 and the government had been requested to extend the special police force’s services, especially those posted in Peshawar and Malakand.
