PESHAWAR:

Chief of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that despite being supported by all the political parties to restore peace in the country, the federal government has failed to make any progress on the issue.

Talking to journalists at the residence of local PML-Q leader Intikhab Chamkani, Hussain said eight months of peace talks had achieved nothing. Flaying the Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Hussain maintained the PPP was playing the role of a friendly opposition whereas Imran had failed to come up to people’s expectations.

The PML-Q chief said mass rigging occurred during the 2013 general elections, adding only a high-level commission could help ascertain the true picture.

Later on, PML-Q leader Mushahid Hussain addressed the party’s district presidents and said the province’s people had rendered huge sacrifices for the country.
