8 killed as militants clash in South Waziristan

The clashes that have been going on for three days now have seen 18 suspected militants killed and nine injured.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Eight suspected militants were killed and three injured when a militant group attacked a rival group in the mountainous area of Shaktoi in South Waziristan, close to North Waziristan Agency.

A total of 18 people have now been killed and nine injured since fighting broke out Sunday in the Waziristan tribal district.

"At least 12 people have been killed in a firefight between militant groups in the Shaktoi area of South Waziristan. The fighting still goes on," a security official told AFP in Miranshah, the main town in neighbouring North Waziristan.

On April 7, four suspected militants were killed while another sustained injuries in an armed attack on a car in South Waziristan. The incident occurred in the Shaga mountainous, close to the border with North Waziristan Agency.

They should be encouraged to keep doing that so that they can annihilate themselves.
