Stressing education: Army-built school inaugurated in Swat

Army has undertaken construction of 49 educational institutions, 2 health centres and 24 water supply schemes in Swat.

PESHAWAR: Corps Commander Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani has reiterated the army’s commitment to promoting education and highlighted its connection with lasting peace in conflict-riddled areas. While addressing the inauguration ceremony of a model school reconstructed by army engineers in Mingora on Sunday, Rabbani said the army is actively involved in nation-building projects in areas cleared by security forces in the Malakand division and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Rabbani was inaugurating a state-of-the-art school equipped with modern IT equipment and a science lab that was constructed in less than a year under the UAE-Pakistan Assistance Programme which aims to improve the literacy rate of Malakand division. According to an official handout, the army has undertaken construction of 49 educational institutions, two health centres and 24 water supply schemes in Swat.
