Pleasant weather: Rain, wind make for a perfect Sunday

LAHORE: Light drizzle with moderate winds made for very pleasant weather in the city on Sunday. Light showers occurred early on Sunday in parts of the city and continued throughout the day. Wind speeds up to 72 km per hour were recorded. The Parks and Horticulture Authority confirmed that no trees in the city were uprooted. According to the Met Office, the rainy spell is likely to continue till Tuesday morning. They said there was also a chance of storm. This is the third rainy spell in the city due to westerly winds. The pleasant weather brought many families out to parks and the Lahore Zoo.  Road side eateries also witnessed large crowds. Bashir Muhammad who runs a tea stall on The Mall said he had done roaring business on Sunday. “Customers began arriving early and many flocked to stalls and shops selling fried foods,” he said.
