While India made it to the final, the two other members of the ‘privileged club’ couldn’t move past the group stage of the tournament, with England losing to minnows Holland and Australia losing all but one of its matches.
On Sunday, a spirited Sri Lanka outmaneuvered India in the final to clinch the WorldTwenty20 title. Kumar Sangakkara knocked an unbeaten 35-ball 52 in his last T20 of his career with six boundaries and a six to turn the tables on MS Dhoni’s men.
The victory gave Lasith Malinga’s side their first world title in 18 years since winning the World Cup (50 overs) crown in 1996.
“It’s been a long time coming, we’ve waited five finals,” said Sangakkara, who was captain in the 2009 WorldTwenty20 and 2011 World Cup.

The match was hotly contested between the two sides. Sri Lanka's technique, composure, and strategy paid off and Lasith Malinga is a well chosen captain. Nevertheless, it will be sad to see Sangakkara and Jayawardene say goodbye but then life goes on. For our team, the less said the better. Salams

Big 3 is not what you guys are thinking. It's obvious, we spend more, our markets are much much much larger then Pakistan's/Bangladesh's. And our share of return must also be more then them because, well, we contribute more? It has nothing to do with player's performance or team's overall rankings. This is common sense, If you give 1000 bucks in a committee, while every poor, unstable nation pays just 50-50 bucks, then you do expect the committee to give you special privileges then those poor nations. Pakistan must stop this bushiness of always crying foul and playing the victim card, not only in cricket, but everywhere.

As WI players said God was generous to SL and gave Jayvardane & Sanghkarra a befitting farewell. SL from beginning was right on the target by winning the toss and opting to chase which was forte of Indians and then Yuvraj Singh who was supposed to gain his form suddenly choked although SL bowling should also be given credit for that.

This is the right time when Pakistan should ban big 3 from icc and Pakistan (the alround champion of the world) should take rein of the icc in his hand also shift IPL to Pakistan without any further delay.

"The best of the rest outplayed the worst of the best."
Unless India reaches rock bottom with few more losses, the corruption, nepotism, favoritism, regionalism, cronyism, match-fixing, bullying, greed, authoritarianism won't stop.
Indian cricket fans are so blinded by the glitter and glamor of cricket that they refuse to see the filth underlying.
The rule of extremist Indians is as long as the team is winning, let any sort of corruption (of physical or intellectual nature) continue.
This is why it is very important that India keeps losing, like the Asia cup, for a long time until it hits the rock bottom, only then it can have some real soul searching.
I pray to god for two things, for the sake of honest cricket lovers of India: 1) India keeps losing, 2) Media keeps exposing the rot that's degrading this corrupt industry called BCCI.
