Cashier, Levies man killed: Education dept cash van robbed
Three personnel of Balochistan Levies guarding the salaries were wounded in the incident.
QUETTA:
A group of armed men robbed a cash van carrying salaries of the Education Department and Health Department after gunning down the cashier and a man of Balochistan Levies in Garok area of Kharan district on Saturday. Three personnel of Balochistan Levies guarding the salaries were wounded in the incident. There were more than Rs10 million in the van but the injured Levies men kept up a resistance and returned fire forcing the attackers to flee with Rs5.5 million rupees, a Levies official said. The van was on its way to Kharan from Besima when around eight assailants opened fire at the van and the escorting vehicle of Balochistan Levies and took away Rs5.5 million,” the official at Levies Thana Kharan said.
