ISLAMABAD:

Gauging the implementation of policies and concurrent quality assurance are prerequisites for the smooth functioning of departments within institutions.

To highlight this fact, a seminar on “Quality Assurance Processes in Higher Education Institutions” was organised by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) on Friday.

Conducted in two sessions, the seminar sought to enhance awareness on quality assurance processes, in effect strengthening the role of various programs’ teams in implementing quality policy at the departmental level, which in turn would lead to an effective execution of these quality assurance processes at FUI campuses.

The seminar’s first session focused on improving university ranking, based on a criterion set forth by the Higher Education Commission and modified feedback forms for teachers’ evaluation, with special reference to medical education.

The second session expounded upon methods for preparing self-assessment reports on academic programs run by the university.

Speaking at the seminar, FUI Rector Maj-Gen (Retd) Gul Muhammad emphasised a need for quality assurance in higher education.

As the rector, he assured the audience that FUI is effectively pursuing HEC-issued policies for the implementation of quality assurance policy in the institute.

The seminar was chaired by Muhammad, while Riphah University QEC Director Engineer Salim Ahmed Khan was the key resource person at the event.

Senior management, faculty members and students attended the session.
