According to DIG East Munir Sheikh, the drugs are worth Rs1.56 billion in the international market and Rs580 million locally.
The hashish was reportedly hidden in a truck, which is now in possession of the police. SSP East Pir Muhammad Shah said that three suspects have also been arrested.
Sheikh also said that the police had been watching the suspects every move. He added that they were even offered Rs80 million to release the truck.
The suspects had reportedly brought the drugs from Peshawar to Karachi and intended to sell them abroad.
Further investigation is underway.
