Security: Police to get 2,000 bulletproof jackets

Govt’s decision to procure jackets would improve security situation in province, police spokesperson says.

FAISALABAD: “As many as 2,000 bulletproof jackets will be purchased for policemen in the province,” a police spokesman said on Thursday. Talking to the media, he said the government had decided to improve the security of police personnel in the province. “Punjab police have some bulletproof jackets but they are old… the policemen are hesitant to use them,” the spokesman said. He said the government’s decision to procure the jackets would improve the security situation in the province.
