PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Saeed Khan, an official of the Revenue Department, Peshawar on charges of possession of illegal assets worth millions of rupees. The accused allegedly accumulated assets disproportionate to his legal sources of income. Saeed has been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation, during which, initial reports say, he has made many important revelations. Taking notice of his alleged corrupt practices, an inquiry was authorised against him by NAB, which has now been upgraded to an investigation and an FIR has also been registered against him at the local police station. Preliminary findings establish the allegations of mass corruption by the accused with the backing of influential figures.
