According to insiders, some PTI MPAs tried to set up a meeting between the disgruntled members and CM Pervez Khattak, however, the group members declined, saying they only wanted to talk to party chief Imran Khan.
This has finally led PTI’s central leadership to take notice of the ambivalence plaguing the party in K-P, and a meeting between PTI Chairman Imran Khan and disgruntled members has been scheduled for Friday (today).
Sources within the PTI told The Express Tribune on Thursday that PTI General Secretary Jehangir Tareen and PTI K-P President Azam Swati have been barred from interfering in the affairs of the provincial government in K-P. The insider added some central leaders of the party also opposed Swati and Tareen’s constant intervention in the provincial government.
According to the source, Shireen Mazari, the information secretary of PTI, had even questioned Tareen’s status in the party, stating he was selected, not elected, as the general secretary. However, Tareen’s reply left Mazari baffled.
“Mazari had sent an email to Tareen stating he should refrain from interfering in the K-P government’s affairs. In response, Tareen suspended her from the post of information secretary,” explained the insider. He added Mazari was, however, reinstated by Chairman Imran Khan during a core committee meeting held on Wednesday.
Party sources also shared that the MPAs who had formed a pressure group within the party in the provincial assembly gathered at the MPAs hostel late Wednesday to discuss their future strategy.
Certain MPAs tried to set up a meeting between the disgruntled members and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, but the group declined.
“A meeting was also held at the assembly speaker’s house and Speaker Asad Qaisar met the group members at 1am on Thursday,” the insider said, adding that the aggrieved members only wanted to talk to Imran Khan.
PTI Central Vice President Naeemul Haq, considered to be the right hand of the party chief, has contacted the pressure group and sought a meeting between them and Khan to discuss the issue in detail.
“Imran Khan has scheduled a meeting with unhappy PTI members of the provincial assembly of K-P,” Haq told The Express Tribune.
Information secretary Mazari added Khan will resolve grievances of the MPAs “if they were genuine”.
Another party insider said the discontent members were prepared to reply to Khan’s queries and will likely ask him to take back portfolios from those MPAs who were elected as independent candidates and joined the party after that.
A member of the pressure group said, “I am sure Khan will have prepared himself but we are also prepared and are aware of the consequences. We will never resign if asked to do so, and will demand suspension of our membership instead because we will have to reply to our voters.”

IK promised to rid of corruption in 90 days in Pakistan, now he cannot keep his party intact even in one province. Some who still dream of IK being the current or next PM should know that we do not want on the job training for any politician especially one well past retirement age.
Crash course on politics for IK. It's great he formed govt in kpk. Now IK will learn about realpolitiks before he becomes PM, InshaAllah.

@Voice Of D.I.Khan: Do u have any proof
IK is ZAB of now :) Its jiyalas are as blind as of PPP. No point telling them
Jobs are for sale in KPK .
relax "true" karachiwala, IK is very much capable to handle such "unfolding realities" in a dignified way. PTI is a hope all the way.
PTI has to win hearts by its actions and not by continuing to curse others. Its time to face realities. MQM had been far more popular in this early days; PTI is not gonna continue its spell with the way its governed and run. Blind leadership and blind followership!
This is what happens when clueless, mediocre and political charlatans behave like national leaders and want to run the institutions. Pathetic.
Relax buddy, IK will handle such "unfolding realities" in a dignified way. PTI is a hope all the way.
PTI should learn from MQM. Cases in point: Saleem Shahzad, Imran Farooq, Azeem Tariq, etc.
Pti is the only party that decided to follow the constituition of Pakistan and do not release funds to MPAs. For sure it was going to be a difficult task but there is no shame in doing the right thing, even if it means losing power.
Mr True Karachiwala still better then your Bhatta Mafia MQM and yesterday Imran Khan clearly tells that he will address concerns of KPK dissident members but will not be blackmailed by them
Click the link and watch what PTI general Secretary says about corruption of CM Pervaiz khatak and other PTI leaders. People of KPK are really unhappy and feel sorry they voted for PTI, hoping people from other provinces will not commit such a mistake. Don,t you believe please click the link of Pashto Times and see what does the PTI District GS says.
@True Karachiwala -- You are not wrong but look at the age of issue. Its been there only since last week of March. Let IK to see those guys and they will be settled.. He is Captain and let me tell one thing, he will sort out the same way, he used to do the cricket team. Only team player would stay in, i can imagine by looking at his career.
But you are right that this is not good for the party. It happened to every party in pakistan because MPA spend money and they want their money back but for them there is way in PTI rule.
PTI is a composite of lotas coming from various politcal parties. These lota are lifelong career politicians and have always been associated with power no matter what the name of the ruling party was. Even though PTI is in power in one province but there are too many lota chasing too few posts/positions hence the frustration from the party. The true character of a party and its leaders shows when they are in opposition for a long time. Remember when NS lost power his majority changed into minority. Only ideological parties survive being out of power for a long time that is why most small parties always want to be with the power at all costs.
It's 11.20 pm, still no comments from tabdeleeists!!! Don't shy away, just face the unfolding realities. Fake degrees, revolt within party. Every thing is happening, but where are election commitments ?
