Hometown visit: PHC CJ kick-starts work on judicial complex

PHC Chief Justice Fasihul Mulk lays foundation stone of Shabqadar Judicial Complex.

Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice Fasihul Mulk laid the foundation stone of the Shabqadar Judicial Complex on Thursday.

The visit was the first in 25 years to the tehsil by a PHC chief justice and the last official visit of Mulk, who retires on April 7.

The complex will be constructed on 30 kanals at a cost of Rs70 million by 2016 and will replace the present courts situated in the irrigation department’s offices.

During his address to the bar, he said the dispensation of speedy justice is imperative to maintain peace in the country.

Hailing from Charsadda district, Justice Mulk said he donated books from his father’s library to the district bar when he was asked for funds, adding PHC has very little funds at its disposal and has asked the provincial government for special budgets.
