Explosion: Two burnt to death in oil tanker fire

Bodies shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for medico-legal formalities.

ISLAMABAD: Two persons were burnt to death after an oil tanker caught fire and exploded while being repaired at a workshop in the Tarnol area on Wednesday, police said. The fire occurred around 2am at a workshop near Khan CNG Filling Station, the police said. According to the police, the tanker was loaded with oil when its driver and his assistant parked the vehicle at the workshop for some welding work. The sparks from the welding set fire to the oil, which led to an explosion. Zafar and Bilal Rasheed died on the spot. Their bodies were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for medico-legal formalities.
