Spreading panic: Blast damages seminary’s wall

Panic gripped vicinity of Gulshan-e-Iqbal when bomb planted outside religious seminary exploded, leaving 1 injured.

KARACHI: Panic gripped the vicinity of Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Monday when a bomb planted outside a religious seminary exploded, leaving one injured. SP Gulshan Iqbal Tanweer Tunio told The Express Tribune that the bomb loaded with at least one kilogramme of explosives went off outside the Jamia Sattaria causing part of the boundary wall to collapse. “A man identified as Altaf was injured by the debris of the wall that fell on him,” Tunio said. The injured was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition was said to be stable. The culprits wanted to create panic as intensity of blast was not high, SP Tuni said.
