KARACHI:

Bushra Nazeer and Shafaqul Ain scored four goals each to spur Higher Education Commission (HEC) to an emphatic 15-0 victory over Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in the National Women’s Hockey Championship at the Hockey Club of Pakistan on Sunday.

Apart from the duo, Sehrish Khan also excelled with a hat-trick, while Aqsa Mumtaz scored a brace. Ayesha Mumtaz and Muniza Erum struck a goal each.

Meanwhile, Railways continued their winning run with a 3-1 victory over Army, but it was not easy going for the in-form side that crushed Sindh Whites 25-0 and Balcohistan 14-0 in their last two games.

The Army women fought bravely as they restricted an onslaught from the opposition strikers. However, Nimra Abdul Khaliq managed to score a brace with Aqsa Mumtaz adding the other. Iqra Javed netted a goal for Army.
