Denouncing the act: CM’s rights coordinator condemns Shikarpur incident

Seven members of a family were killed by assailants due to an old enmity.

KARACHI: The coordinator to the Sindh chief minister for human rights, Nadia Gabol, has taken notice of the incident in Shikarpur, in which seven members of a family were killed by assailants due to an old enmity.

Gabol directed officials to take action against the perpetrators and to provide legal aid to the affected family.

In a press statement, she condemned the incident and dubbed it one of the worst examples of brutality. Gabol added that such incidents create insecurity among citizens, especially among those living in rural areas.

She also expressed concern over the rampant violations of basic human rights in the province and offered her condolences to the bereaved family.

Gabol said that the provincial human rights department has been working on the prevention of such incidents by arranging awareness seminars, public gatherings and training courses. Press Release
