MARDAN: A man was killed while three others, including a woman and child, were injured when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at them on Sunday in Dang Baba, Mardan.

Hoti police station’s SHO Inam Jan Khan said Atiqur Rehman, 34, was on his way to a wedding with his aunt and uncle. Inam said the three were getting into a rickshaw when unidentified men on a motorcycle approached and opened fire at them. Rehman was killed on the spot as a result, while his uncle, aunt and another passerby, Nabila, 8, were injured.

The SHO added that the attackers managed to flee, but left their vehicle behind, which was impounded by the police.

Rehman said all the injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital Mardan by residents where they are said to be in a stable condition, adding that an FIR has also been lodged.
