Two people were killed while three others were injured in firing by unidentified men in Gomal Bazaar, Tank district, said a police official.
He said the incident occurred at 11pm on Saturday. Zafar Ali and his cousin Liaqat Ali, along with Rematullah and Wasim, had gone to Gomal Bazaar for a wedding.
After attending the ceremony, the four left in their car, accompanied by the bridegroom Muhammad Fayyaz who was escorting his guests till Kot Khaddak.
On the way there, unidentified men intercepted the car near an under-construction government college building and opened fire.
As a result, Zafar Ali and Liaqat Ali were killed on the spot while the other three were injured. The injured were rushed to Tank District Hospital.
The police have registered a case against the unidentified men. The motive of the incident has not been ascertained yet.
